Reflections: Quiros
Last night’s LinkedIn Live with ADL and Prospanica was a meaningful reminder that conversations about identity, belonging, and collective care deeply matter.
The discussion explored the intersections of Latinidad, Jewish identity, community, solidarity, and the importance of challenging single stories and conflated identities. What stood out most was the recognition that people carry layered identities and lived experiences that cannot be reduced to stereotypes, assumptions, or simplified narratives. Creating spaces in and outside of organizations where individuals feel seen and fully human is not a diversity initiative, it is relational and community work.
The conversation also highlighted the importance of coalition building across communities. At a time when fear, polarization, and mistrust can push people further into silos, there is power in choosing connection, curiosity, and shared humanity. Spaces rooted in dialogue and understanding ask us not only to confront bias and misinformation, but also to cultivate belonging, joy, accountability, and empathy.
I am grateful to ADL, Prospanica, and everyone who joined the conversation. These dialogues remind us that solidarity is not performative, it is a practice rooted in relationship building, listening, challenging assumptions, and the ongoing work of showing up for one another.
