Intersectionality

In the past few months I have been given a wealth of opportunities to work with a diversity of organizations; Administration for Children Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers, i-Fashion Magazine, Sanctuary for Children, Partnership with Children, Staten Island Legal Services, Y7 Studio and my own Adelphi University. I am so appreciative that these organizations let me into their worlds to authentically help them better connect to missions of diversity and inclusion. I realize that despite the differences in clientele and organizational structure, there remains a common thread of human connection and relationship building. My work with everyone here involves a deep dig into the challenges associated with authentically connecting to diversity and inclusion,. The work is both personal and professionally because I ask that folks allow new ways of knowing into their worlds and into their leadership styles, and also ask that they let go of ways that stop them from authentic connection. Our work involves trust, vulnerbility and nurturing. As my relationships with these organizations grow, I will continue to find the intersectionality in all of these worlds and always feel grateful for these opportunities.
